Wings of the sun (The)

On July 7, 2010, the solar airplane leaves the ground like a dancer in a deafening silence... A wild dream come true.

If our world has become dependent on fossil fuels, man also has the ability to bring change, and to prove that there is an alternative to dark clouds. A few years ago, facing the energy challenges of the world, men gathered around a crazy dream: to fly with solar energy only and demonstrate that progress is possible by using clean energy.

This epic has taken years of research and studies by leading aeronautical engineers, supported by a team assembled by two men: Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg.

But for this message of hope to cross borders and to go around the world, the plane must be able to fly day and night...
