"God created the world, the Dutch Netherlands." The delta region in the south of the Netherlands which half is below the sea level has been completely reshaped by man not to be under the waves. Following the great flood of 1953, the country has been engaged in Herculean labors after which the Delta became a fortress capable of withstanding the most destructive storms but at the cost of environmental impacts that scientists begin to measure the consequences.
