Special session – Dreams of another world: exoplanets, exobiology
Thursday 08th October 2009 from 16h00 to 18h00
Salle 2 / Grand Amphithéâtre
Session for Middle & High School students
The universe is the most profuse laboratory that researchers could imagine, offering them the possibility to study an incredibly diverse range of phenomena. Astronomy’s difficulty lies therein, and this session toys with this plurality. The search for exoplanets treats the direct observation of extrasolar planets, important new stages in the development of observation methods, technological advances and questions that set many of us dreaming: Are there traces of Life in the past?! Are we alone in the universe?
