There’s no doubt that in our Western societies an argument with scientific backing holds high credibility in the eyes of the public. But what is scientific truth?
What does it consist of? For most of us, science means objectivity, independence and rigor in search of a fundamental truth, but it’s the scientific community alone which, at a given moment, grants a scientific discovery the privilege of truth. What criteria do they use, and how do they proceed? What do we expect from scientific truth?
